Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Azure, on a pale Gules fimbriated Argent a Doric column of the like.  Attached above the shield a Red scroll inscribed "ONE TEAM" and attached below the shield a Red scroll inscribed "ONE SERVICE" all in Silver.

Symbolism
Dark blue and scarlet are the colors traditionally associated with Personnel Services units.  Red is symbolic of courage, vitality, and determination; white stands for integrity, and blue denotes loyalty.  Red, white, and blue are our national colors.  The column and pale simulate the numeral one and allude to the unit motto.  The Roman column also represents service in Rome during World War II and suggests the unit's mission.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 9 February 1995.
