Dark blue and scarlet are the colors traditionally associated with Personnel Services units. Red is symbolic of courage, vitality, and determination; white stands for integrity, and blue denotes loyalty. Red, white, and blue are our national colors. The column and pale simulate the numeral one and allude to the unit motto. The Roman column also represents service in Rome during World War II and suggests the unit's mission.
Crest
The gold laurel wreath is indicative of high ideals, achievement, and excellence. The swords reflect the unit's war service in Japan and Southwest Asia and are crossed to denote strength and support. The scroll symbolizes the administrative mission of the unit and also suggests the principles of freedom.
The coat of arms was approved on 9 February 1995.
